It's bleak up north

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wallabok, the final move has been made. I should just like to thank everybody who helped, or volunteered help but who weren't in the event called upon (specifically in the latter category, [livejournal.com profile] delvy and [livejournal.com profile] ashenkat). I do appreciate it.

The only glum side of the move is that I have lost my half-sovereign ring Mum and Dad bought me for my 21st birthday. The redoubtable Mrs Z has said that she will look out for it, and I'll be going back down to Clapham next weekend to settle up a few bills and things, look into [livejournal.com profile] romney's flat and possibly even meet up with [livejournal.com profile] drjohnsilence for a pint, as he may be over on a whistle-stop from the US. Hopefully it will have turned up by then.

Well, it didn't take long for me to get back to a keyboard, did it?

Admittedly this is DT's machine, mine being in several pieces in the other room, but hey, I'm on-line part time at least. I think I might reassemble my old banger in the living room where I can plug the modem into the phone socket while I await that glorious day that is broadband.

I have, I suppose, much unpacking to do today - not that I have anywhere to put anything for the time being, so a great deal of stuff will stay in boxes for the near future. This is a dismal prospect, but hey ho, what to do?

I see that it is raining like good 'un outside, so I managed to get here just in time. I was going to nip out to Waitrose across the street, and purchase some victuals, but I might hold off and see if it stops raining.

Later, chaps.

Waitrose!
Oohhh!
What wouldn't I give to go shopping at Waitrose.
Sometimes I lay awake dreaming of shopping at Waitrose.

It almost certainly did stop raining, go beautifully sunny and bright, get you half way out and then chuck it back down at you laughing for tricking you into thinking shall I take my brolly? No it's only over the road ....

You will find that Waitrose, being posh, will not stock your accustomed range of victuals.

You will have to absorb the extra cost of buying viands instead.

an absolute pleasure, old chap
