The truth of the matter is that Waitrose and, I think, Marks and Spencer do rather interesting ranges of dried fruits. Sainsbury's do as well, but they're not as evocative as (especially) Waitrose's range.
The worrying thing is just how much this dried fruit looks like preserved body parts...
ellefurtle started it off. She acquired a packet of dried mango slices: Flesh. It looks like dried strips of human flesh. Long Pig, to some. Very tasty, though. And chewy.
Having scarfed that back, yesterday we went in search of more only to find that they had sold out. Clearly veggie cannibalism is rife in Whetstone (you wouldn't think it to look at the natives, mind). So flesh was off the menu.
Bugger.
But!
Dried pineapple slices look very like sections of brain stem, so we bought some of them. Scrotums too. You may know them as dried Williams Pears, but they're clearly scrotums. Sunday not being a delivery day, the rest of the range was rather sparse, but the dried cranberries look interestingly small, crimson red and chewy.
I must dig out my copy of Gray's Anatomy...
