Dust
I am currently typing with a certain trepidation on my PC.
The casing is off it and I have blown into the fan/heat sink as hard as I can without dismantling anything. There was a cloud of dust but no obvious fluff bunnies lurking in there. I am hoping that this was enough to free the heat sink of the tyranny of dust lagging and allow the computer to operate as an explorer in shorts - warm yes, but not achingly uncomfortable and prone to collapse. Should this not be the case and it all goes horribly wrong again in the next five to ten minutes, I fear that I shall have to pull the cable out and do things with screwdrivers.
I am not looking forward to that prospect.
In other news, the Department was re-launched today. I may write something on that a little later on this machine or the lappie depending upon the effectiveness of said dust removal...
Edited to add: An hour since logging on and the brute still hasn't conked out on me. I am hopeful. I am also logging off...
