Living the Vita Arta
If Tracey Emin can pass off an unmade bed as art, then so can I.
In fact I am taking it a stage further. No longer shall I fret over the fact that the dust bunnies on my floor are now big enough to intimidate the discarded socks. I shall never again stare in horror at the underwear grazing on the empty cigarette packet veldt that is my floor. The pile of clothes on my easy chair is no more to be considered untidy. It is a statement - artistic and political.
My room is not untidy. It does not look like a collision between a Chinese laundry and a paper mill.
From now on my lonely garret, chez moi, my room, is an existential expression of post-millennial solitary existence; an intimate view of modern day convenience living incorporating pop culture references from latter day Anglo-American society.
The duster and can of Mr Sheen represent the traditional values of society, the shoes the transient nature of fashion.
