Two and a half hours

There are two an a half hours left before the second leg of the First Division Play-off semi-finals.

Tonight it's Reading v Wolves at Reading's Madejski Stadium.

And already my nerves are shot.

I shall be in the pub to watch the game, a Wolves supporter in the company of [livejournal.com profile] romney, a Reading follower (I say 'follower' since he is a Reading boy and doing it out of hometown loyalty rather than any real appreciation for the beautiful game).

Still, I should not mock, scoff nor, indeed, cast buns. For I know it will all go horribly wrong if I do and the prospect of glorious promotion to the Premier League will recede yet again.

Gad.

After twenty years of the Wolves being in the football wilderness, I am used to the despair supporting them brings.

It's the hope that kills me.

Update

Well, we won. But argh, and indeed, Oooo.
