Diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum, woooo-oooo-ooooh

It's not often that the Beeb gets its act together quite so quickly, but already, the new season Dr Who DVD releases are being planned.

Apparently this will happen in two phases: Volume 1, containing episodes 1-3 will be available in the UK from about 16 May, with regular releases of the remainder of the season on an approximate monthly basis thereafter. These will be no-nonsense, no-frills versions containing three episodes each, and nothing else.

But if you can wait until November....

Smaller on the outside Bigger on the inside

Then you get the boxed set with all the BBC3 documentaries as well as all thirteen episodes.

Election news

This is (probably) not true, but should be (from today's Times):

Under a law of 1537, which has curiously never been repealed, if two candidates in any constituency win the same number of votes, the result can be decided by armed combat "using sword and buckler at a place within a league of the tallying place before sunset on the next morrow". This is more entertaining than a recount and must happen if ten voters demand it.

I think armed combat between prospective MPs is a fine idea.
