When Wednesday feels like Monday

Cooler today, so far –except, of course, on the Tube, where it swelters undisturbed by the wider environment – it is cooler because no shifting and packing can be done during the day as we are back at work and the Karma Pixies are having their play. Tonight there will be more desultory packing, with further items lugged across to the flat. Soon we will have to come to the question of BOOKs they being probably the largest population of similar items to be boxed, followed in order of magnitude by CDs and DVDs (there is room form debate on this: the quantum of CDs is the greater of the two, but the DVDs in various package styles are individually larger).

As much as it goes against the grain, I may have to downsize my library again, even if only by a token amount. The history and otherwise factual books are sacrosanct, but some novels may find their way to the charity shops. I never ditched a book in over 20 years and now I am looking to do it again for the second time in 4 years.

O tempora! O Mores!

If anyone wants that armour I mentioned a while back, you have until Sunday evening before it gets binned. It would be a shame to just chuck it, given the number of role-players on my friends list, but we don’t want it/can’t use it, so for the final time of asking...?

Last night I tried the Mary Poppins approach to tidying and packing by snapping my fingers: it doesn’t work. Hard as it may be to believe, Disney have lied to us. It’s true.

Couldn't you ebay it, I'm sure somebody will want if you get the word out to the right people, I just remember how much time/money went into it and the bin would be a crime!

If no-one wants the armour, I'll help you with it...*g*

I think for the Mary Poppins click to work you will have to sing A Spoonful of Sugar.

If'n you're willing to make the trip to Whetstone, it is yours, gratis and with all good wishes. You will need a BIG bag.

Should you make it tomorrow night, you could join us in the pub quiz for BEER. Email me for phone number and directions.

snapping my fingers: it doesn’t work...

But you now have to go round closing the doors of all those model tardi.

BEER* is very tempting, but I'll be fighting Dread Cthulhu's minions and be trying to avoid Hounds of Tindalos

If'n you're willing to make the trip to Whetstone
I'll be at Kensal Green Cemy on Saturday to take a tour of the Egyptian Monuments, so possibly early in the afternoon?

TARDISes

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
Give me a call to arrange the time; we should be around between one or other of the flats.

Now that I would like to see him do!

[identity profile] failing-angel.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Huzzah, it sounds like a plan.

Equally, if someone else is able to get there sooner, then please, don't hold it on my account - I'll be up for grabbing it as a potential prop, but if someone can put it to better use, then I wouldn't want to deprive them.
(If that makes any sense whatsoever).

Hurrah, it'd be nice to think of it going to a good home. I remember Adam deliberately cofusing a foe during a fight when he ran towards them and then stated loudly "you know, under this armour, I am naked!". The foe lok confused which gave Adam the opening to belt him one hehehe.

I hope it's been cleaned since then!!!!

We sterilised it in a uranium bath.

Cool, 'glow in the dark' armour.

The Ready-Brek Battalion grows ever stronger

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
It is informally known as the 'Nad Rotter' armour on account of its uranium powered sterility...

(I jest! Come, get the armour!)

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
A couple of people queried its availablity but never followed up. I think their relatively generous proportions compared with those of the armour dissuaded them from following up.

[identity profile] failing-angel.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh.

Well I shall do my utmost - you have my email address, can you send me appropriate contact details & your address?

[identity profile] drjohnsilence.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're going to get pedantic about plurals, the plural of tempus is tempora...

Yeah, well I'm not exactly Sticky the Stick Insect myself.
Do you think it'll fit?

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I am operating a double standard here. Begone.

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a difference between ample and dumple build...

[identity profile] failing-angel.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very kind of you to say.

Oh, and what sized bag will be needed?

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Right - I've emailed details to both email addresses I have for you. As to bag size...

As I recall the 2 biggest items are the breastplate (it's rubber so a bit bendy, but not too bendy) and I think there's a similarly sized back piece - I need to check, but assume there is. You'll need to be able to fit a helmet, too.

As big as you can manage, basically!

[identity profile] pipsytip.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd actually pay to see him try it

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I am afraid that on my sliding scale of charges, the price would always be significantly more than you were willing or able to pay! ;-p

Register the books on bookcrossing and then wild release them!
Elle knows what I mean, she has a bookcrossing account and can do the registering and numbering.
