caddymanWell we had our last (in theory) lardy meal tonight. We went out to Waitrose late afternoon and bought two sirloin steaks and some potatoes dauphinoise, to which we added mushrooms and mushroom sauce and peas. I fried the steaks in their own juices - no fat added and then slapped in a goodly dollop of port to glaze it over. Very toothsome when washed down with pear cider (when did it stop being called 'perry').
While we were eating, we watched Jaws on DVD. Those what know her, will know that Furtle is fascinated by and terrified of sharks in equal measure. She is a delicate blossom and was less than pleased when I reappeared from the kitchen and waved Nigel the kitchen shark in front of her while she was finishing off her steak.
Not a 25' Great White
I thought it was funny, but she was less convinced.
