Fisherman's Friend Cherry Menthol Lozenges are a little bit disappointing. I mean, they taste of cherry and all, but the menthol is low key and there's none of that knock-the-top-off-your-head power that screams Fisherman's Friend at you.

Ah well, could be worse.

Day three continues apace. I am supposed to be going for a pint after work with the GASPs crew. I don't really want to; not quite three days in and BEER is a sure fire way of tempting me back on to the paths of wrongtiousness. It's done it before. I shall go along for a half hour, have a pint and come away. Proper boozing will have to wait against the day I don't spend time consciously not smoking.

I am still awaiting my first proper fall of soot. It hasn't happened yet and the longer it takes, the bigger it is likely to be. That'll be interesting. I have the start of a cough, but nothing too annoying yet.

I still can't work out if I am all hot and sweaty because of the general temperature or because of my general temperature...

Keep to it!

The trouble is, I actually like smoking. That said, I am fed up with being out of breath for very little effort etc.

As to giving up smoking and that meaning that you no longer have to inject? Result!

At the moment I have, on average, 5 injections a day. The new insulin will do away with three of these which will be a godsend. I'm having quite a lot of trouble with tissue breakdown where I've been injecting for the last 30 years at the same rate and of course this isn't going to change. I quite like smoking too, but not having injections is much better!
