Yellowstone

Nobody but nobody can do a nature documentary like the BBC.

I have just spent the last hour watching Yellowstone: Winter on iPlayer and it was worth every minute. One day I think I shall have to try and make the effort to go in person as one of the 3,000,000 annual visitors. But in the summer, I think. Beautiful as it is, minus 40 in the winter is just a touch beyond my capabilities to cope with. When the temperature is the same in celsius AND fahrenheit, you know it's best to stay by the fire...

I watched that, and while staggeringly beautiful (and I was jealous of teh snow-clearing man) it was, like the vast majority recent BBC nature documentaries not featuring Ateenborough, just nature-porn. Beuatifully photographed but where was the detail, the facts, the information. God I hate that slow, patronising 'storytelling' style of narration.

Still mind-blowingly pretty - I want to go one day...in winter!

I've got to get out there some time. My sister worked there a few summers, but I've never been.
