Hello, hello...

Wandering along Victoria Street this morning on the way to the office, I happened to glance in the window of Ryness the electrical goods shop.

This little beauty was on display, complete with working telephone!

I had a little bet with myself that you would be first to comment! ;-D

There has been rather too much of that sort of thing around here recently, with all the student riots!

Did you make a purchase?

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2010-12-10 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
He he.

No, it is a luxury too far and rather too big! Apart from which, I suspect [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle might have views... ;-)

It's a phone?. You do know that these days one can obtain a phone that fits in one's pocket and can be transported everywhere don't you? Hmm perhaps one of those is too Star Trek for you - but, honestly the new phones don't even have a string attaching them to the wall these days. Even I am becoming used to using one of the new-fangled stringless ones.

I have seen these things of which you speak in the moving pictures.

It seems that American soldiers use them a lot and call them 'walkie-talkies'. They do look rather cumbersome and they must get very drafty and wet in inclement weather.

The kiosks around here are not much better and smell of wee...

Personally my eyes were more drawn to the spoilsport who has strategically covered up all uses of the word "ass" on that "ultimate trivia game" at the bottom of the picture. How prudish!

What a great picture - it looks like it just landed there! Is this how this year's Christmas special starts?
