Camera

I am now all digitaled up, having acquired, after mulling for a couple of years, a digital camera.

No doubt there will be inventive cursing tonight (or more likely tomorrow night, as I'm out at t'pub tonight) while I fathom out how the bugger works. The battery is currently charging, so I may play with it a little later during a ciggie break.

End of line Sony DCS-T5, 5.1 Mega Pixels, 3x optical zoom, 2.5" monitor, 512mb 40x speed memory. That'll do me. Once I've worked out how to use it - and it doesn't look too complex - I'll be able to post up all manner of drivel.

And of course, I shall have it fully mastered by the time we run NWO.

Which means I'll leave it on the kitchen table before I leave...

I look forward to seeing your www.flickr.com stream, my good sir. If you open an account - give me a yell!

Haven't had time to investigate, yet.

Is flickr free or subscription?

You can have either, like with LJ, free account is fine, but gives you an upload limit (albeit a pretty reasonable one). I'm empresscam on there if you do get an account.

I have a little Sony DSC-W5. Love it.

Free - but they cap your uploads so keep the images mediumish and you'll be fine. 20 gig per month for a pro account (about £18 a year)

See, that's serendynchronicity, that is. I was just maudling about earlier, thinking They'll all be at Ilam, I won't be there, waah and there it is. Your camera, I mean.

There will be ragged refs and puzzled players, and someone has to take some pix I can get all misty-eyed over.

Well, provided I don't actually leave it on the kitchen table, there will be photos, you can count on that!

There were photos of NWO Rome, but they disappeared with my ntl account. I must get and repost them at some point. Maybe...

Have you seen Dave Miller's photos?

My wife's acquisition of a digital camera, on her recent birthday, is the reason I was able to post the snow photos, lately. If yours is anything like hers (a Canon) the instruction manuel will tell you how to set it up quickly to take pics, short-cutting you if you're too impatient to wade through 120 pages of finer points. The only important thing I wish she'd read was how to set the camera so the pics would be PC-monitor-size rather than billboard-size! The initial few pics occupied mucho memory in the camera. So if you take a laptop with you to the game, you can dump the pics in there periodically and go out and click some more.
