Drooling Idiot

I am back at home.

Pretty much my entire mouth is numb apart from the very tip of my tongue and a couple of centimetres of my top lip on the right and my bottom lip on the left. This allows me just enough sensory input to be reasonably sure that my mouth is closed and that I am not drooling like an idiot.

My nose is also numb, so if it gets snotty I shall not know for a couple more hours.

I am not allowed to rinse my mouth out for several hours, must avoid hot food for several days (warm is OK) and eat using the right hand side of my cake-hole. Nothing too hard; soft foods only.

Excuse me while I go and drool more blood.

I'd forgotten how rubbish going to the dentists can be.

You have my sympathies old thing. It's worth bearing in mind that visits to the dentist aren't always so unpleasant.

Yes they are. Even a check-up is invasive. When the blighter peers in there and shoves that little mirror-wotsit in, I want to deck him.

Always hated going to the dentist, always will!

Well I agree that it's never fun but a scale-and-polish rarely results in gobbets of claret and drooling.

My dentist is marvellous, he hates taking out teeth and prefers to spend his days polishing and cleaning with the odd cap, crown or filling to keep his hand in.
I have been going to him for thirty years, he joined the practice after I became a patient. We are on first name terms and greet each other with a hug! now how cool is that?

Given that I went through the exact same myself recently you deffo have my sympathies on this one. I would love to say you'll be right as rain in a few days but that would be a lie!
