Going potty

Today has been an odd one, and it's not even 11.00 am as I type.

Woke up after a poor night's sleep - last night's Chinese was all sugar and MSG, and kept me awake and twitching for at least an hour, and then I woke up a couple of times with acid indigestion and the remnants of what in other circumstances would have been cheese dreams. Together the suddenly cold and wet weather, l can honestly say that if my motivation to leave the house this morning was shown on a cardiograph, the A&E team would have had the paddles out immediately, and it would have been called hours ago.

Two cups of strong coffee did nothing to help, and I finally left the house well past nine knowing that I would not be in the office until gone ten this morning. Frankly, I didn't and still do not care.

This is not entirely like me.

The feeling of dislocation continued during the Tube ride into town during which I felt extremely uncomfortable for no apparent reason. Not ill, or anything, not even troubled by unwelcome thoughts, just uncomfortable. The only way I can describe it even partially, is to compare it with that slightly strange sensation you get when you fold your arms in the opposite manner to the way you would normally. It just doesn't feel quite right; something is mildly out of kilter.

I don't know: maybe it was mild claustrophobia, though I have been "sardined" into really packed trains before now, and only felt annoyed and uncomfortable because of the crush, rather than any feeling that the walls are closing in on me (now heights are an entirely different matter!).

Anyway, it seems to have gone now, happily. I think the act of changing trains at Euston may have done the job, but it was weird while it lasted.

Maybe I'm losing my marbles in my old age…

Interesting...

Just for my own amusement I posted a private, backdated entry of the tracker that seems to be popping up here and there on LJ land.

Having dated it at 2010, it is always at the top of my own page so I can see the last ten visitors to my LJ. Interestingly, no-one on my friends list ever comes here it seems (so how the hell do you all manage to comment, tell me that?), but I have a lot of throughput from the Russian Federation and the Ukraine.

And it seems, some regular visitors who are not on my friends list.

Hello. Yes you at the back - no, the other one - that's it you in Newtown, Australia. I can see you.

And you, over in Ocean Springs, Mississippi... ;-)

Let's try that again

I think I have worked out why my original post was acting all arse. Privacy lock the the entry and back date it, and the entry gets all confused, I think. In my case it just picked up the last set of info it had, which wasn't from my LJ at all, I expect.

So no-one in Newtown, Australia has been peering in.

Shame, really.
