Revelation!

Well that’s an illusion shattered.

I was sauntering down the hill to the tube station this morning reassuringly late as usual, when I saw Creepy Swedish Guy toiling up the hill to the station from the opposite direction.

In broad daylight. So not a troll after all. Or at least a troll with the mother of all sun blocks. He was still a healthy grey colour – his exertions clearly not enough to get blood to his face, which would have graced a denizen of La Rue Morgue back in 1841. Oddly, I didn’t see him again at Victoria for the interchange. I wonder what this signifies; nothing probably.

I don’t know if seeing the bloke’s saggy, sour face put me in a baleful mood or anything, but I have to admit that while I was on the line down between Euston and Victoria, I took a look at my fellow passengers. What a motley mob they were; every last man jack of ‘em. A seedy range of faded chav grandeur and faded business grey, with then occasional washed out scarf making an early appearance after feeding the moths for the summer.

And me in me flasher’s mac.

Classic Telly Remake

Here's an interesting snippet: the BBC are to remake "Survivors".

Hopefully they will make a better job of it than they did with their new Robin Hood which has somehow managed to get itself a second season I see (in fact it's largely been aired, though I only found out about it a couple of weeks ago).

Kate Harwood, head of series and serials at BBC Drama Production, said: "The opportunity to remake Survivors for a modern generation proved irresistible.

"After months of negotiations, I am delighted that one of British television's great cult series will return with original stories packed with adventure and spirit set against the backdrop of our own recognisable world."

The new series will be written by Adrian Hodges, who also wrote Ruby In The Smoke, Shadow In The North, Charles II and Primeval, and will be broadcast on BBC One.

As one of the few people who rather enjoyed Primeval I am not worried that the writers are linked to that series.
