Today is our extra day off, which all civil servants get for the Queen's Birthday. God Bless Her Majesty and all who sail in her, I say.
Of course, it is also somewhat chilly and we find ourselves reluctant to leave the flat. I am going to do some more drawing and Furtle is slaving away on her course. We are about to call a short halt, though while we brew up some more soup. This is part of our continuing efforts to trim down.
I think it's working; I don't look much or indeed any different, but I have taken my belt in a whole notch as reported before and the past couple of days, while wearing my shorts, I have been using the next notch in. I doubt I could manage that with the trousers I wear for work as they are of a thicker material, but it feels like progress even so. Maybe I shall get to the point where I can button up that leather jacket! It's only a little more than a fortnight, though, so early days.
