Petty annoyances

I hate Parcel Farce, I really do.

I know I've grumbled about them before, but really. I bought some original artwork (yes, contact was finally made!) from Canada and Parcel Force tried to deliver it yesterday - after quite a rapid transit across the Pond, I have to say. Now, I am happy with the fact that they didn't leave it sitting outside the flat with both of us out at work. What pees me off is the fact that they dropped it off at a post office in North Finchley for me to collect and sign for.

North Finchley is a mile away and not on a Tube line. Post Offices don't open until 9am. In the meantime, there is a Post Office just 50 yards from The Carpathia. A further 100 or so yards along around the corner, is the local Post Office distribution office. They are far more local and open at 8.00.

Bloody Parcel Farce.

Still (pity it's not a better scan):

Eccles and Rose and the TARDIS in a trench, Christmas 1914.

It's a really nice piece; uninked.

edited to add: guess which branch opens at 9:30 on Tuesdays...

I'm where?

I thought I was in North Finchley, London. My iPhone thinks (or at least thought) I'm in Windlesham wherever that is...

Parcel Farce

Well, the strange chitinous sound you can hear is the karma pixies rubbing their wings together in glee.

The post office in North Finchley, not opening until 9:30, doesn't have my package. So I have to do this all again.

Finchley is a bigger place than I recall, having elected to walk to Finchley Central station.

Cripes

The rubbery end of my dobber has come loose. I don't think it will drop off just yet, but I should source a replacement, pronto.

That is all.

bored again

A little-known joy of the iPhone is discovering that you have a multitude of application updates awaiting you just when you are bored. It is an easy way of tinkering with technology that doesn’t require any brain power and is just involving enough to get you through the troughs of boredom that crop up of an afternoon at work.

I started with WordPress and moved on to LinkedIn. Shortly I shall have a go at AroundMe, Photobucket, iWiki and Flashlight,

Once I have done this, I shall ponder the import of the missing spaces between and continued initial capitalisation of application names.

Once complete, I shall have to think of ways of amusing myself.
