Well, the strange chitinous sound you can hear is the karma pixies rubbing their wings together in glee.

The post office in North Finchley, not opening until 9:30, doesn't have my package. So I have to do this all again.

Finchley is a bigger place than I recall, having elected to walk to Finchley Central station.

I never said a mile was a long distance!

My grumble was to do with the fact that it’s a mile out of my way when I have to get to work, followed by another mile and a half (as it turns out) down to Finchley Central. It would have been quicker walking back to Whetstone. It all chews up time and what is acceptable on a Saturday isn’t quite so good on a weekday morning when you have to go another 13 miles by Tube to get to work. :-p

The distance and time wasting was unnecessary, when there are alternatives on my doorstep.
