Utensils?

Before my shower, I stood in the kitchen brewing up a nice cup of tea to settle me down before sleep.

It occurred to me, whilst I was watching the tea spoon fail to sink as it rested athwart the most buoyant teabag in the history of er... teabags, that I am one of two people who can say without fear of contradiction that we have a boxed TARDIS, and inflatable shark, two plastic eyeballs in an ancient jar of hair gel1 and an X-Files Erlenmeyer Flask, complete with alien phoetus sitting in the kitchen.

X-Files Flask on left. Real Erlenmeyer Flask on right. The boring one.

We also have a potted plant called Bilbo.

I daresay that many kitchens out there have one or some of these items, but I am reasonably certain that only The Carpathia can boast them all.

Life is grand.

An ancient jar of hair gel that talks? now that's scarey, especially as it can look at you with the eyeballs too *shudders and worries about nightmares*

It doesn't talk so much as quiver...

Ah. That's where the Rangdo is hiding himself since the aspidistra disguise stopped working.

You don't have a large plastic stag beetle any more, though. I know this because it's currently sitting on my PC unit scaring people who come into the office!

:D

Did I used to have a large plastic stag beetle? I have no memory of it!

Sitting on a PC is a good place for such a thing!

It was Furtles, so I like to think that I relieved you of it :)

She sent an email around asking if anyone wanted a gigantic plastic beetle and I thought, how can I say no to that?

Quite right! It is a GOOD beetle!

Good Grief, that episode was from 1994...

Have you reinstated the rubber chicken in a teapot experiment?

[identity profile] caddyman.livejournal.com 2008-07-03 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly I do not have a big enough teapot.

I love you. And [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle.

In non-squidgy ways, of course.

Was it the alien phoetus or the shark that clinched it for you? ;-D
