New Computer

As always these things take a while to get set up - not least because of all the applications that have to be reinstalled.

But now I have a PC with a 2.6Mb dual core processor, 2Gigs of RAM, Disc space totalling 1,352 Gigs of space across three physical disks. The video card has more memory than my old PC. It moves faster than shit off a shovel.

All I need to do now is work out how to get it to recognise the nice clean wireless keyboard, so I can use this tatty, grubby old thing as a reserve fall back.

For oncer, tech is my friend!

Did you recenty buy more icons, Bry?

I didn't buy any recently, but I had some spaces left from the extra I bought a while ago. I now have no extra spaces...

I'm thinking of dumping a bunch of mine, nd making some new ones. I particularly want one of myself brandishing a well-aimed v-sign and blowing a raspberry. And we know what the two-word text would say.

That would be "Hello Romney"?

I keep trying to come up with some kind of system, but with a few relatively obvious exceptions it doesn't take, so I use whatever icon takes my fancy at the time, as a rule.

Actually as my computer has finally given up the ghost don't suppose you can tell me roughly how much that set-up cost you? I have no idea how much computers cost these days.

Well, with only a 500gig HArd Drive, and by recycling your monitor, mouse and keyboard and getting a mate to but it together for you, instead of buying it off the shelf, you can get it for a little over £230 (includes case and DVD player/recorder).

Failing that you cfan get something quite presentable from Dell for around £400.
