Quick update

Got up. Anticipated telling off, or at least mild grumbling by [livejournal.com profile] wulfboy for filching his standard opening.

I have today off work, kiddies. Yes, it's true: I am skiving, buit it is a legitimate skive since I have burned off a day of annual leave to achieve it. On Thursday it looked for a while that I might not be able to take either Friday or today off as planned (nipped up to Shropshire for Great-Niece's 2nd birthday, see, so need recovery time). Unable to do anything real about the economiuc climate, Ministers have gone into damn the long term consequences, let's bee seen to be doing something and try to get re-elected mode. It is sad, tiring and a very busy experience.

So, anyway, where are we? Oh yes, many congratulations and hugs and stuff to [livejournal.com profile] caffeine_fairy and [livejournal.com profile] chomper99 on the safe arrival of young Zoltan yesterday morning. We await official confirmation of the baby's name, but for the time being, Mother and future Emperor of the World are doing fine, I believe.

Right. I think I shall nip off and investigate food. Hmm. Is it late breakfast or early brunch?

Hmm. You're the second person to use the traditional [livejournal.com profile] wulfboy opening. Obviously, working in government as you do, you're in on the conspiracy. But then "Ramblings of a self-made pauper" has 27 characters in it, and that makes 9.

I'm afraid, having checked the manual, you can't count as a skive a day that you have officially put in holiday time for in advance. I think some people allow a skive to count if the holiday time is not booked in advance, but rather "stolen" on the day, but they are wrong thinking, backsliding liberals and I will have no part of them.

Late breakfast/early lunch - depends what you are eating and whether you have already had primary breakfast yet.
