Home Improvements

Well that's just dandy.

We have cracked and put the heating on for a short time at least. We have both felt chilly all day and apart from that Furtle has twisted a muscle between her shoulder blades, so her back hurts. The extra warmth will help with that, too.

Unfortunately, in my wander arounnd the Carpathia to make sure all the windows were closed ended up with the handle of nthe bathroom window coming off in my hand. At least it's closed for now. I can find similar, but not identical replacements on the web and they are mercifully cheap. I guess I shall spend some time tomorrow wandering around B&Q looking for what appears to be an Espag window handle. I don't know what that means, but the thing sitting next to my keyboard appears to be one.

Hopefully it is simply a case of unscrewing the old and attaching a new one.

Only just? It must be a lot warmer in London than here then - we've had ours on for over a month (and we're still bloody freezing at night).

We're still sleeping with the windows open, but we have given in to an extra blanket! Bry is like a furnace all by himself though :)

Windows closed and extra blankets here, which is a pain as I much prefer to have the windows open but it's too damn cold. Apparently they have snow up north though so I shouldn't complain.

Our heating's been on (intermittently) for weeks. Bloody southerners, eh? :)
