Losing it..?

While I think on it, is it just me, or is Hollywood as a gestalt, losing it completely now, even by their own low standards?

We went to see Sherlock Holmes yesterday (which I am hoping ellefurtle will review: she was seething) and settled down to enjoy the trailers for the forthcomig releases as usual.

An exciting preview came up and I wonder out loud to Furtle if maybe there was a remake of Jason and the Argonauts in the wind? I wasn't far off, of course: the stentorian tones of the voice-over artiste announced solemnly and dramatically, "Titans ... will ... clash!!!" And then the title flashed up on the screen: "Clash of the Titans"

Come on Guys. You're not trying anymore.

i haven't seen holmes yet, but i know the studios have been lingering in the unoriginal pile for quite some time. the remakes, oh the remakes...is there no imagination out there anymore?

When it comes to remaking,ebooting, redooing songs/films etc of the 90's and 00's there will be a big empty space as twas the decade and a half-three quarters of 'rebooting' and 'covering'.

I'm looking forward to Elle's review as I wanted to go and see this with Sharon. As it turned out she took her folks on Boxing Day , and while she liked it, describing it in terms of a Period Action Flick, but she admitted that she'd never read the books or seen the sublime Mr Brett imortalise the role for tellvisual eternity. I have to say I was v dismayed at her assement.....

I think I'll see it but I'll have my complete Boxset and my weight tome of Collected Stories to take away the horrid, horrid taste.
