Who out there can tell me anything about the bands Arcade Fire and/or Mercury Rev?

I've just seen them both on Jools Holland, and they picqued the old curiosity.

Mercury Rev were an indie-rock band from my pre-Student years. I seem to remember a mix of shoegazing plus harder guitar - but the memory is a funny thing.

Can't help you with Arcade Fire but Mercury Rev's 1998 album 'Deserters Songs' was mighty fine. How bad can something that uses mellotron and flugelhorn be?!
