Glögg

I have just discovered that the Swedish variant of mulled wine is called Glögg.

Glögg is a far better name than mulled wine and from now on I shall be calling it by that name.

That is all.

I though Glogg was non-alcoholic ?

According to my sources, the alcohol level of the real thing is dependent, as with mulled wine, on the temperature you make it at.

Make it a little cooler to keep the alcohol, but it's not inherently alcohol free.

Seems to me that here in the States, Ikea sells Glögg by the bottle in December.

I vaguely recall having to fortify it with something...

But with respect, Thom, you can't get drunk on cider in the US ..... :-)

Well, I'll admit it takes some effort.

Some herculean effort.

Yeah, I fairly sure I've bought some from piekea.

It was too sweet.

It came in both non-alcohol and alcohol varieties, from what I recall.
