One for the back garden...

Blackpool Council are selling Thunderbird 3!

If you have at least ten grand to spare and room for a 45 foot model in your garden, this is for you!

Fantastic!

Wow.

Oh wow.

Looks like something I used to build with Lego bricks!

Well.

It would fit...just.

But I'm affraid I wouldn't want the movie version and would insist on the 1960's TV version.

...so I'll pass on this at the mo.

The BBC News covered this story last night suggesting that these lights could be installed in peoples living rooms.....

I think that it is based on the puppet version. Certainly looks like it to me, but then I can't exactly remember what the movie version was like.

...now Marvel at my geekiness and question not my word...

Ahhhhhh!

That explains it.
I was in Blackpool a few months ago and saw it.
And immediately said "but those bits are wrong..."

To be fair, it's less of a change than between the original TV Enterprise 1701 and the Movie Enterprise 1701.

[identity profile] irdm.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
But weren't those different 1701's (I forget the letters, TOS was A, films were...? )

These are meant to be the same TBs aren't they??

In ST Movies 1-3 it was the NCC 1701 from the TV but refitted by Masda. That was destroyed in #3 when they snaffled the Klingon Bird of Prey which they used until the end of #4 they got the NCC 1701-A. They kept that until they switched crews to ST:TNG who mangled the NCC 1701-D in their first outing and then got and nerarly mangled the NCC 1701-E.

I am marvelling at the geekiness - my goodness you are very... geeky, but it keeps you off the streets I hope.
