Do Not Want!

I don't feel like going back to work after a week off (even if it was unpacking). I need a week away from work to get over my week away from work...

More to the point, I need to develop a new work morning routine. There is no longer a kettle in the computer room, so I can't wake up and make a coffee without swinging downstairs. That said, it's only one flight of stairs to the kitchen now. Unlike the old place, the Carpathia doesn't have sinks in every room, so it isn't really feasible to bring a kettle up here either.

The upshot is that I have eaten breakfast standing in the kitchen, but come back upstairs with my coffee. I need to polish this routine; maybe change it around a little.

It needs work.

Link up a hosepipe from the kitchen to the computer room for the purpose of filling the kettle?

Switch on the computer, go downstairs, make coffee. By the time you bring it back upstairs, the computer has finished booting.

Assuming that you turn your pooter off each night, of course.

The length of time my PC takes to boot these days, I could go to Brazil for fresh beans! ;-)

Two words: Goblin Teasmade (or the coffee-making equivalent). Ok, 6 words. 7 if you dissallow the hyphen. I'll stop now.

I can believe the Carpathia has a resident House Goblin, but how are they going to train it to make the tea? The nasty things refuse to follow instructions and usually eat the teaspoons. Mine spends all it's time muddling-up socks, hiding the biros and deleting the game save files on my PC.

I blame that Rowling lass for the inflationary price of proper House Elves.
