Le Marché

The French Market has reappeared on the High Road as it does from time to time. It is somewhat larger than normal. We have just wandered the length of it, looking at les vins, les pains, patés, tartes, gateaux et stuff. We managed to get past the arts and crafts, the rugs and throws, the sweets, the bags, the crêpe stands. We remained untouched by the saucisses, saucissons and fromages.

We were very proud of our restraint.

We have three expensive, smelly soaps.

How did that happen?

If it's still there tomorrow, I have promised Furtle a selection from the rustic potato concoctions on sale. We are being good today.

Le marche (sod the freaking accents)

You IGNORE les fromages and les saucissons and you come home with SOAP!??

What kind of people are you??

There I was, jolly impressed with you remembering all those little French words, and then ... "et stuff." That was the most impressive bit. I almost stood and saluted the essence of Franglais. Well done, old garcon.
