Desperately seeking snoozing

3.15 am and I'm wide awake. This is [livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim's territory, not mine.

Typical.

The past week and a bit away from London, both at the coast and in Shropshire, I have slept like a log every night without fail, at the drop of a hat. Tonight, back in London, I'm wide awake.

Catatonia had the right of it:

London never sleeps, it just sucks
The life out of me
And the money from my pocket
London always creeps, showbiz hugs
The life out of me

Fresh Hell

I have done the only sensible thing a man can do on return from leave, and that is apply to take more leave.

Of course, that is the four days I need to prepare for, help run and recover from the final NWO in three weeks time.

In the meantime, it has occurred to me that taking time off in this place is merely an excuse for colleagues to fit you out with a lead waistcoat, fill the pockets with as many rocks as they can find and then invite you to swim across shark-infested waters whilst wearing it.

And why do people want inconsequential and hard to obtain information going back to 1980, all of a sudden?

Games night

Well, games night is now a Monday, with a revised cast of players. The first session went off well enough, creating some Serenity characters and getting going.

Shiny.

I wouldn't say that things played out badly plotwise, but by the end of the first session, we were minus our ship. Now we have to work out how the hell to get it back.

We ain't even left the planet yet.

Pyen juh duh jiou cha wen!
