the zen of coffee

After the fun of Sunday night, I slept the sleep of the just last night. Other than a quarter hour period around 4am where my bladder threatened to do the tango if I didn’t do something about it.

Hmmm. On reflection, you probably didn’t need to know that. Just re-read it out loud, syllable by syllable, from right to left and it will magically disappear from your consciousness. Or summon up a denizen from the underworld. Either way will take your mind off it.

Last night’s gaming session proved to me yet again, that of the members of the Athenaeum Club, I am the only one who understands the concept of the filter coffee. Because I was busy faffing around up in The Tower, [livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim made the pot of coffee (which I ended up drinking almost in its entirety; we’re going to have to rethink the logistics of the coffee pot now [livejournal.com profile] forbinproject and [livejournal.com profile] jfs have left the group).

We have entirely different philosophies concerning the bean of the coffee bush. The good Colonel likes to take it weaker and sugar sodden, but in industrial amounts. Myself, I prefer it without sugar, and a little less frequently, but with enough coffee in the cup to enable me to walk the ceiling.

Thus it was that I found myself adding instant coffee to every mug I poured myself from the coffee pot to bring the flavour and caffeine quotient up to optimal levels. This does mean, of course, that I have to concentrate on such things as punctuation and even spaces between words.

But hey, coffee.

caddyman: (You'll believe a man can fly)
I am now all digitaled up, having acquired, after mulling for a couple of years, a digital camera.

No doubt there will be inventive cursing tonight (or more likely tomorrow night, as I'm out at t'pub tonight) while I fathom out how the bugger works. The battery is currently charging, so I may play with it a little later during a ciggie break.

End of line Sony DCS-T5, 5.1 Mega Pixels, 3x optical zoom, 2.5" monitor, 512mb 40x speed memory. That'll do me. Once I've worked out how to use it - and it doesn't look too complex - I'll be able to post up all manner of drivel.

And of course, I shall have it fully mastered by the time we run NWO.

Which means I'll leave it on the kitchen table before I leave...
