Bleh

I always feel a bit of a fraud taking time off just because of a cold, but I shall stay at home this Monday.

I have swallowed enough paracetamol and ibuprofen at regular intervals tonight to be reasonably sure that I have dried my nose out long enough to get some sleep. Hopefully I shan't snore quite like Krakatoa and wake Furtle like I did yesterday night. Having showered, instead of feeling cool and refreshed, I can feel the heat radiating off me.

As before, I don't feel horribly ill, but breathing is a major feat - well, through my nose anyway. And I feel quite, quite tired. Though, to be fair, it being 1:39am may have something to do with that.

Night night, Gentles.

Better. Ish

An extra couple of hours' lie in under a warm duvet seems to have done the trick. When I went to bed last night I was roasting and I think I may have had a slight fever. Other than lips like sandpaper and still better than half-full sinuses, I feel much improved. Improved to the point that I now feel like a complete fraud not being in the office (and yet I haven't bothered to get my shoes on and go in... ahem).

I may pop into Camden this afternoon. The fresh air will do me good and I can meet up with [livejournal.com profile] mrtonylee for a coffee and see what he's up to over the next few months. That said, his Twitterings suggest that the Central Line is doing for him what the Northern Line frequently does for me...

Surreal...

As I have not yet been out to visit the surreality that is the Northern Line, that surreality has come to visit me.

A deaf Polish man - according to his handwritten card - just came to the door of the Carpathia and tried to sell me his drawings. Except that they were not drawings so much as glossy copies of drawings signed in pencil. They were okay in a rustic east European sort of way.

I didn't buy any and he glided silently away.
