Er, excuse me...
Monday, March 29th, 2010 12:14 amThose of you who know me will realise that I'm not one to grumble [/fibber], but sometimes you just have to have a moan, even if it's only a small one and you are really rather amused by it.
Today in HMV on Oxford Street I bought a CD of Symphony No.6, Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams, performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Andrew Davis. A snip at only £6 and as
ellefurtle observed, it should be a competent performance at the very least.
Sadly, 'competence' is not quite the word I would use for iTunes. I copying the CD to add to my iPod, it suggests a genre for you, to help cataloguing.
Ralph Vaughan Williams' music is perhaps, many things, but "Alternative & Punk" it ain't.
