caddymanJuly 14 already, eh? That makes it Bastille Day; I suppose that means that our Froggie chums will take the day off from various types of civil unrest and indulge in a day off. Pretty much like any other Wednesday, really, except without the barricades.
What with all the talk of snails yesterday and my general reluctance to get any work done, I think that I shall appoint myself an honorary Gaul for the day. I have some Françoise Hardy on my iPod and, I think, a song or two by Edith Piaf. I doubt that I shall be allowed a glass of Bordeaux at my desk, though and it’s some years since I stopped smoking and even longer since I smoked Gauloises. I refuse to wear a string of onions or a beret. The only hopped shirt I have is at home and anyway, Doncaster Rovers football shirts are not particularly Gallic.
This honorary French lark is harder to achieve than you might imagine. I shall daydream of Carla Bruni and leave it at that.
