What with all this trouble in North Africa and the Middle East, whereby the masses have finally woken up to the fact that they can get rid of brutal dictatorships if they really want to, I have decided that the next time I get an email from a Nigerian Bank asking me to help transfer some deposed despot’s billions, I may just have to take it seriously.

I mean, it’s all over the news – there are toppled despots and there are billions of golden splonders that need shifting around, so if a nice Nigerian Barrister asks me, I feel I should at least pay attention.

In the meantime, I could pre-empt them. It’s harder with Egypt and Tunisia, because the former leaders are precisely that – former. But certainly Bahrain and Libya are different propositions for a short time at least. Maybe if I email as many variants as I can come up with of Mumar-G@hotmail.com and the like, I can offer a little financial help to a beleaguered tyrant and make a bob or two for myself in the process.

See, I have the email address of this barrister in Lagos…

Alternatively, email a Nigerian spammer as Mr Mubarak, and see what they say.

I say go for it! And document it for us all to read.

Your post has reminded me of the R4 programme I was listening to last night. Heard it? The Bob Servant emails.

Slightly off topic, but I must say the colonel is really playing his part of eville supervillian/tyrant/despot very well. Aside of the killing and oppression, his monologuing was superb, proper bad guy stuff, you just don't get that quality these days.
