Rusty hinges

I think I need an oil change on my knees. Both of them feel weak and squeaky at the moment; it’s not so bad on the flat, and reasonably okay going upstairs, but going downstairs can be a trial as one leg or the other feels like it’s going to give way. If it continues, I shall have to visit the quack, I guess, but I already know he will just tell me to lose weight.

Ah, me. I already know that; what about me poor old pins while I am trying to lose weight? I can’t do all the recommended walking if the undercarriage is ratchety. I think I have a couple of knee supports somewhere – those tight bandages designed to stop your knee cap spinning off and embedding themselves in the wall. I should probably dig those out and try them. It just doesn’t feel right getting all padded up just to work in an office. It’s not a contact sport around here (most of the time).

What? I feel a Goon Show coming on. Cut to sounds of frantic hammering, clanking and scaffolding being erected around the mighty, creaking Lea kneecaps. That will be five pounds, Ned, payable in money. (ker-ching) Thank you; you just lost five pounds. See what scaffolding will do for you? It's working already. Just don't go swimming.

Only option unfortunately - it was the shins with me as every time I walked they went into flaming pain. Fortunately that has now passed with over three stone ditched but I had to endure it all winter until finally I reached the point where it passed.

Mind you my own knees are still a bit dodgy so it's not always just wieght (even though quacks will inevitably tell you it is).

Cod liver oil supplements can make quite a difference in such a situation, I believe.
