In anticipation of the arrival very late tomorrow, of Messrs Andrews and Cooke, I have been out and acquired some interesting cheeses.

For Furtle, there is a Cornish Yarg, which is suitably stout, and a piece of Spenwood, a medium to hard sheep’s cheese with a light, apple-y flavour. I have also acquired a small Cooleeney – not too much because a little soft cheese goes a long way.

The piece de resistance however, is a mighty chunk of very blue Cropwell Bishop Stilton. This will go in the fridge tonight, but come out and sit on the side during the day so it can read up on its Hobbes and Kant before we introduce it to the port in the evening.

Pity I have no Madeira, (m’Dear).

We just went out and bought 'the Christmas bits'. Seemingly 50% of these bits were cheese or port. Surprisingly the small gentleman who lives with us likes a blue cheese

"For Furtle, there is a Cornish Yarg, which is suitably stout".......did you mean to say that Bry?

You have clearly come up with a different meaning to the one intended.
