Now here's a little tip you might find useful.

If you find yourself having just come home from the pub on, for the sake of argument, a Sunday evening, and you get the urge to tidy up your kitchen, resist.

I cannot stress this too urgently.

RESIST.

Tidy the kitchen up when your enthusiasm is not alcoholically enhanced.

Why, you ask?

Well, let's say you wake up on, again - for the sake of argument, Monday morning, and troll into the kitchen for you usual cup of coffee, it is not beyond the realms of probability that you will find yourself burrowing into a bin bag looking for all the useful stuff you threw out the night before.

You know the stuff: favourite cup, coffee and teaspoon. Medication and so forth.

You went for speed cleaning? Very satisfying at the time.

Cleaning sadly does not equal throwing everything in the house in the bin. I know. I've tried.

Quite true, quite true.

But as Elle pointed out it is damn satisfying. Well, right up to the point where you have to retrieve all the stuff you didn't meant to chuck out.

Buy new ones - it's the only way...

And all that stuff is covered in nameless goo and stained orange at the corners.
