Ninety minutes of boredom
Thursday, June 17th, 2004 07:01 pmI didn't think it was possible to have a dreadful 3-0 win, but England have just conjured one against Switzerland.
And tomorrow that display will have the overpaid morons feted like gods by the press.
God clearly despises the Swiss. Can't blame him, mind.

Date: 2004-06-17 12:13 pm (UTC)Football's coming home.
*sighs* Something akin to that perhaps. (contrary to ancient grudges, I am sternly supporting England at the moment)

Date: 2004-06-17 12:39 pm (UTC)Yes it was dull. Owen was shite. I watched it in the pub, so I was unable to hear the half time comments of the pundits, and Tel's expert view of the game.

Date: 2004-06-17 01:42 pm (UTC)(I just don't get football. Sport, in general, more fun to do than to watch, and not that much fun to do.)

Date: 2004-06-18 03:25 am (UTC)Well I'm not sure if he would be as affective over 90 minutes. As he usually only comes on for 20-30 mins, he has the energy to chase everything. And he does not have a good goal scoring record for Villa, and the goals he score for England are usually against some primary school from Tasmania.
Even though Owen is not playing well, he is the sort of player that can get goals at crucial moments, and if he did drop his star striker, and we lost, Erikson would be heavily criticised for the change of player.
