I’ve been meaning to make a quick note here for the past couple of days and kept forgetting. Primarily for those of you who like the blues guitar stylings of Stevie Ray Vaughan, if you haven’t encountered the band before, seek out the Chris Duarte Group, particularly the new (or at least current) album, “Blue Velocity”.

Planet Rock played a couple of the band’s pieces on (I think) Sunday and it was pretty damned good.

I would put him down as potentially the spiritual successor to the late, great, Stevie Ray. I expect that this will be of interest to [livejournal.com profile] telemeister.

*giggle* I spent AGES trying to remember that name before I bought his next-to-most recent album on Itunes! I've been playing it lately and it's not bad at all. Am considering the one you've posted, but it's a bit expensive just now.

I shall have to keep an ear out for this Duarte chappie as I used to be a big SRV fan.

Thank you for the recommendation; I may well check them out.

I've heard him. A clever chap. Lordy, I used to sound like that until I listened to lots of the original chaps who inspired SRV, and then I calmed down.

May I also direct your attention to Tommy Castro? Not dissimilar, but more rootsy.
