I'm not sure this is true.

But then, who cares?

Wouldn't you know it

Well, here we are, April 1st.

And true to form, the world has gone arse about face.

I woke up this morning, and after the usual few minutes staring at the wall in incomprehension, I strolled over to mt PC and booted it up to check for e-mail.

Of course, it was working perfectly last night, but this morning, all of a sudden the warnings start popping up low resources - insufficient disk space. You know the drill.

And despite clearing a bit of space here and there, it still wouldn't wake up properly. Any other day of the year I would just put it down as one of those things and leave it until I got home this evening to play about.

But of course, it's 1 April, so you start wondering if it really is just a full disk or whether a virus has crept onto your machine. I actually expect it is the former - but as usual these things happen when you don't have the time to check them out. When I loaded the MP3 software on a while back I forgot to dump it on my D drive, so it is quite likely that the C drive really is full - especially as my first attempt at converting a CD to MP3s ended up there, too.

So I'll faff around with that tonight and hope I can remember where I put my registration number for the Archos software for a reinstall on D instead of C.

Anyway, my usual ntHell wouldn't work on account of the lack of resources thing. Happily my reserve zetnet dial out takes up no space at all. So I managed to download the inevitable pile of spam awaiting me and then came into work.

And, irony of ironies, the system is down. There is a major fault with our ETHOS servers (I doubt Porthos and Athos are working, either).

So.

I have no email. I cannot access any of my personal files from my P drive, nor the group files from the G drive. I can get at my C and D drives, but I generally store nothing on them (note to self, back up P drive to local workstation).

Even working locally, I cannot print since the printers are network dependent.

I do have access to the internet, though. So you, my only reader, get to read this diatribe.

And just to add to the irony of it all, what with all this time on my hands all of a sudden, guess where my NWO information is stored? Guess who can't bring up any plot details or reminders to screen so I can make a creditable attempt at a new character sheet?

Chundy-warblers.
