Typical, isn't it?

I've been knackered all day but now at 2.39am as I type, I am wide awake. Tired, but wide awake. That means that I shall be knackered all day tomorrow, now.

Ho-hum.

There was a time when I could just collapse in a corner and kip as needed. These days I seem to be able to do that during the day, but not at night.

At least I haven't developed a fear of sunlight - that might be a tad worrying.

And thanks to the Polish Contingent's (tm) seeming inability to sign for items delivered by the Postie, I have to get up relatively early - or at least earlier than I normally would - and wander down to the sorting office and pick up a package.

So anyone who sees a red-eyed zombie wandering Clapham High Street Monday morning, be kind.

It will be sleep deprived me.

I think I'll lie down and stare at the ceiling for a little while now.

{sarcasm} Monday in the office. How splendid - it takes away the cares and rigours of the weekend - just washes and soothes them out of the system like a distant bad memory.{/sarcasm}

Saturday, a trip to Reading in Sunny Berkshire for a combined NWO ref meet and [livejournal.com profile] maleghast birthday drink/food-fest. A good time was had, I think, by all, despite the birthday boy's singular grasp of time and distance. (I swear that his '10 minute walk' from the station left me nearer the Sierra Madré than it did Reading town centre...).

Still, we met up and discussed reffing and outstanding plot lumpiness and quaffed much BEER. Except [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis who was, as is his wont, driving. Also in attendance were no LJers Pete, Kev and Paul. The latter disappearing off frequently to watch the Wolves v Reading playoff semi-final on the telly.

Thanks to frequent application of the [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis eyebrow and glare, he was saved much mocking, scoffing and casting of buns from yours truly when my boys ran out eventual winners for the day. It's probably as well since there is a second leg to come and experience should tell me that there is plenty of time for the overall fixture to go horribly wrong.

Later, we ended up in a Thai/Chinese fusion restaurant with [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle and a couple of unnamed gels who I assume someone knew, but sans Kev who wimped out.

Again.

Excellent if rather highly priced food, and the discovery of something which looked absolutely disgusting but which turned out to be a tooth brush you chew....

Rather odd, really.

And then the slow train back to London, followed by tuby goodness back to Clapham and arrival chez moi just after midnight.

I believe that the rest of the party with the exception of [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis and myself cleared off to a cocktail bar for further diversion.

I'm afraid that the old liver and soft furnishings no longer run to the rich side of life, so I was happy to crawl into my pit for kip.

Still, there we are. And if anyone can explain the plot to me again, I'd be grateful.
