Jake, one of the Jay H Seedy (don't ask) Quiz team, and Navigator par excellence is celebrating his 50th birthday today.
The Royal Oak, which normally isn't open at weekends has been hired for the occasion from noon onwards. And it's a Harvey's pub which, to the uninitiated means REAL ALE.
Later I am meeting Miss Clark sans LJ for more BEER.
I am reading the last rites to my kidneys and soft furnishings and then leaving for this appointment with destiny...
Update, 18.00 hrs
Phase one complete. Only mildly soused. Hour and a half restage then back out.
Oh lordy.
Upsdate 23.55
Well that went weell and I'm not as pissed as I could be but the BEER glasses were the wrong shape which was ciondfusing. Still. Good time had.
Erdinger is expensive but fabby - a German weissbier.
Hah.
