Itinerant bedding

I have to report that by the time I got home from work tonight, the mattress had succeeded in its bid for freedom.

It is no longer propped au galant against a neighbours dustbin. Nor is it anywhere else in the street.

It is free.

Expect a nationwide alert and mattress hunt.

Or not.

I'm still hoping for choccies and a postcard from Switzerland in due course.

Caption Competition

Okay, kiddies, this one was too hard to resist.

Post up a caption in the comments box and at some point I'll run a vote to see whose caption is the best. I shall e-mail the eventual winner with the Stalin Award (first class) with Oak-Leaf Cluster

Elmo and George

Update

When I said in a response to [livejournal.com profile] smittumi that people could have as many goes as they want, I didn't expect certain people, notably messrs [livejournal.com profile] romney and [livejournal.com profile] barrettyman, to demonstrate precisely how much time they have on their hands when they should be working...

Shame, shame on you.

[wags finger accusingly] ;-)

Mattress Sightings

[livejournal.com profile] jennanne has seen one hitching a ride in a truck in Oklahoma, but [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle has reported a possible kidnap of an unwilling mattress in Reading.

Has word got out? Are elderly beds across the world making a break for freedom? Are the Linen Stasi rounding up homeless beds? Or are they spawning? (The mattresses, not the Linen Stasi).

Something odd is afoot...
