Well, here I am back in London after a week away.

I had missed my keyboard, but I am rapidly revising that opinion. There is so much email on my reserve account that the server freezes onstead of delivering it. And because it is my reserve account I know it's all spam - all 229 of them.

As it is, on my regular account, someone called Teenage Pussy seemks to be desperate to email me. I bet shye gets ragged about that name. Pity I've deleted them all.

Good to see you've all been busy writing up your LJs in my absence; I've decided that I really can't be arsed to read them all - mo offence, but 62 friends, 10 days away from the PC.... It's just too much....

More later.

Perhaps.

Belatedly, I should tell you that [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis was the winner of the caption competition with Dubya Announces New Vice President Following Dick Cheney's Collapse Under The Weight Of His Own Evil. He has already confirmed that although he has no idea what it is, he does not want the Stalin Award I so carefully threw together crafted. Wise man. Having said that, had he not voted for himself (naughty lad), and [livejournal.com profile] ijsian as a true Floridian not misunderstood the voting system, matters might have been different.

Still, there we are.

Now, in other news, it seems that the UK advertising industry is slowly being taken over by aliens. TV Sci-Fi aliens, that is.

Do you remember 'V' from the early '80s? The one with the reptile aliens who wanted to steal all of Earth's water? A tragic programme to be sure, but that hasn't stopped it having an influence on TV ads in the UK; accidental and unintended, no doubt but nonetheles there.

It was me silver-haired old Ma who noticed it first. There's an ad for Matteson's thin sliced ham. A woman takes a rolled slice of ham and puts it in her mouth with every appearance of swallowing it. She is clearly a reptile, however, since at no point does she even make the pretence of chewing said morsel. No, swallowed wholesale.

Now she doesn't look like Diana, but she could be a lesser minion...

It is a worrying posibility and one which will no doubt have our vegan chums such as the estimable [livejournal.com profile] boglin wagging her finger. Still, forewarned is forearmed as they say.

If you see anyone swallowing chunks of meat (quiet, back there in the cheap seats) without chewing first, I urge you to peel their face off to make sure they aren't a reptile.

If they're not of course, a hasty sorry followed by the fastest exit your chubby little legs can manage is advised.
