Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 01:30 amYou know, I was as sure as eggs is eggs that our quiz team had a friendly match tonight, the league fixture being cancelled through the demise of an opposition team.
Well, I was as wrong as I was certain.
I turned up to the momentary panic of Frank the landlord who quickly checked his calendar to assure himself that he haddened forgotten anything. He hadn't. romney to see if there had been any change of plans I was unaware of (he is on call and wasn't due to play anyway). He couldn't confirm either way, but invited me round for a viewing of his recently purchased copy of Men in Black 2 on DVD.
So I did.
And made a fair attempt at eating him out of house and home.
That's what happens if the quiz doesn't happen.
You have been warned.
(The film wasn't bad, by the way. I'm glad I didn't see it at the cinema, but on telly it was entertaining enough although the pacing was lacking in places).
