Weekend, gigging and booze.

Well, the weekend is upon us and I'm just hanging around the office for a few more minutes before wandering off up the West End to meet friends in advance of our much anticipated trip to the Mean Fiddler for tonight's gig by the 21st Century Schizoid Band.

Now, the question is should I have a couple of pints before the gig, as the beer in the venue is frankly awful - expensive lager and from cans only - and hope the old bladder holds out, or deny myself a swift snorter and get dehydrated at the gig?

Water seems somehow wrong in this context, and bottled water is positively gauche...
