Scrubs up nicely, that one....
Monday, March 8th, 2004 12:36 amNo. I shan't explain the title, but I do know it means something to at least two other people. Yes, I am an enigma. It is both my curse and my gift.
I have just returned home to the wilds of South London after spending the bulk of the weekend in Birmingham, chez
pax_draconis discussing NWO plotlines with most of the writing team. I'm too tired and there were too many there to list. You know who you were, chaps. Good meeting.
Having said that, it was nice to see
ashenkat for the first time in a dog's age, and later, to meet
boglin for the first time. I am told that this was the subdued Boglin, which, apparently, is atypical. Still, nice to meet you anyway. Nice boots by the way.
Those who know me well will be unsurprised to read that I grabbed the lifeline thrown to me by
pax_draconis like a drowning man and did not join the majority of the group and various other interlopers (hello, various other interlopers) for a night's clubbing.
misterdaniel departed homewards, and
maleghast and I spent a fine evening chatting with
nyarbaggytep about any subject that cropped up whilst making glorious inroads* into Messrs
pax_draconis and
mr_cook's stores of red wine.
Splendid.
There was a potential downside to this, however, in that whilst not drunk, the alcohol switched off my tolerance filters and I was a little less than polite to a returning member of the crew who shall remain nameless but who, in his cups, had forgotten the art of relevance and brevity in conversation. I feel a little guilty about that.
No, on reflection I'm lying. I don't.
Today started late, but over a very late pub lunch, the three remaining members of the writing crew bounced around some approaches to presenting agreed plotlines in a couple of character sheets, and then moved on to possible set pieces and forward plotlines for NWO Constantinople which is at least two years away as I write this.
We spoil you players. I hope you appreciate it.
I have acquired, courtesy
nyarbaggytep and
maleghast two CDs of music. Baggy's is themed around (but not exclusively containing) rythmic African music - much of which so far has Tangerine Dream Overtones, much to my surprise, and a random, unthemed selection from Olly. I have yet to listen to that one which will have to wait until tomorrow, I think.
The return home to London was somewhat later than intended and I met DT and AC both sans LJ for a pint at about 9.50 rather than the planned 8pm.
I now owe AC the promised bottle of Southern Comfort Reserve, as she has obtained for me the Curse of Fenric on DVD. I almost can't wait to watch it. Apparently the four episodes on disc one contain additional scenes even compared with the extended video release from a few years back, whilst the second DVD features the same re-edited to form a single movie, where the restoration team have indulged themselves with a number of fancy technical effects.
Hmm.
Shower now.
And then beddy-byes.
*ie we drank the bloody lot
