And the day winds down. Or up since it's now just after midnight.

Earlier was Kill Bill Vol. 2, an excellent movie, though not as strong as volume one; let's face it, they are just one very long movie and will probably work better as an extended package on DVD than at the movie house.

And then to the pub. Second time this week - unheard of in this day and age for me. Anyone would think I had money. I don't. But hey, who cares? I find myself sitting here digesting a peanut butter/raspberry jam sarnie and wondering if that was such a good idea on top of popcorn, Coke and three pints of Landlord...

Oddly, I can think of nothing else to write - my customarily quirky view of the world seems to be taking a well-deserved hiatus. I think it must be the sleep. I've been making an effort to get at least an extra hour's sleep each night. This means that I am less tired during the day, of course, and my eyes look less like a sickly panda's skull, but the downside of it is that I discover it is fatigue toxin in the blood that gives me my perspective on life. Equally it has come as something of a shock to realise that the world doesn't dissolve into soft focus at about three in the afternoon for about 45 minutes. This is a bit of a shame since I always felt it to be one of the universe's more endearing qualities.

I was going to do some more model painting tonight, but on reflection I think I shall skip that. Opening and stirring enamel paints on top of alcohol and in an enclosed space is probably a little more exciting than I want - especially as I'm smoking at the same time.

I think I may retire now, and read a bit more of The Northern Lights which I seem to be enjoying reading despite it having been written for an age group about 30 years younger than me.
