Next time you're in Springfield, don't get lost amongst the highways and byeways. Consult this, instead:

I didn't think it was possible to have a dreadful 3-0 win, but England have just conjured one against Switzerland.

And tomorrow that display will have the overpaid morons feted like gods by the press.

God clearly despises the Swiss. Can't blame him, mind.

I am finally managing to put some flesh on the bones of my final character sheet. There's still plenty of work to be done on it yet, but it's slowly getting there. By way of a taunt, I shall merely say that one of you people out there is likely to kill me for the way it's going. Ho ho and indeed titter.

Having said that, I can write no more tonight. Tomorrow evening, yes, and perhaps, depending upon work, tomorrow during the day, too. After my recent assessment, I am a bit iffy about hacking out stuff in work time just in case, you see.

But either way, no more tonight.

It seems that I had it wrong, and that Mrs. Z disappeared off to Poland this morning, not yesterday as advertised. Her English is variable and my Polish non-existent, so the confusion is fairly well explainable, I feel. On my way out to work this morning she corralled me to complain about the fact her cordless phone isn't working and thrust it at me as if I could fix it. I could not. Mind you, there was something of the Ark about it, so I suspect that it's merely given up the ghost through old age.

Anyway, she's off to parts east now, and I sit here in wary anticipation of the antics of the Polish Brigade tm who at the moment are curiously quiet and well behaved. It's a bit like having very young kids in the house: when you can't hear them you know there's trouble brewing.

I can't quite get over the fact that it's so bloody warm in here, considering that there's been a cool breeze all day, and that I've only just shut the door which was letting a quite gusty cross current through. The window is as wide open as it gets, but the air no longer moves and the temperature is rising again. Hopefully not enough to prevent a good night's kip.

And yes, I've been playing with the font colours. Why, you ask?

Because I can.

Edited to add: So much for the font colours. They don't show up on my PC, but I can't be bothered to lose the coding. so you'll have to imagine it...
