And there's more
Monday, January 24th, 2005 01:46 amBollocks.
I just typed a long post and then Semagic died on me, so it's lost.
Briefly: Phase Two is complete. It took all day, and I think John, who volunteered help was rather dismayed at the sheer quantity to be transported, but phase two is complete.
As neither Adam nor DT, both sans LJ were in when we hit Whetstone, I am hoping that they will not be too horrified when they encounter the large pile of boxes stacked in the corner of the living room. I had thought about putting stuff in the spare bedroom, but that appeared to have a bed in it, which looked as though it was in use (though not at the moment I looked in, I hasten to add). I know which room is the domain of the DT, and I thought that Ser Taylor's abode was on the top floor, but I may be mistaken and decided that the corner of the living room was, over all, the safer option.
The packing did mean that I discovered my long lost Leatherman multitool, which is damned useful.
Well, phase three takes place in a fortnight, with the final move in three weeks. I may avoid the need to buy a bed, as John has a nearly new one he is willing, very generously, to donate to the cause. This will appear (probably) with phase three, when the hire of a van becomes necessary to transfer the big TV, shelving, hi-fi, DVD player, armchair and microwave, plus assorted boxes of other gubbins.
The final move then will, hopefully, only need space for the portable TV, PC, and various smaller boxes and clothing.
And they say moving house is stressful.
